I also don't believe this. There are lots of videos online about Chinese women publicly humiliating and stripping the mistress of their man. So cheating definitely is looked down. China is not Japan but Asian is Asian. I doubt their value system is that different.

In this day and age, one could certainly say that such a view is becoming more and more mainstream. However, it hasn't always been the case. Just 60 years ago, a fallen woman was just that, a fallen woman that no one wanted to associate with, and cheating was considered one of the worst vices.

Two hundred years ago in Japan, the women with the most sexual partners were the most desired ones. They never had a concept of virginity or female honour / chastity as we Europeans did.
