New York psychiatrist Sam Foster takes over the case of art student Henry Letham from a colleague who has fallen ill. He suffers from amnesia after an accident, but makes confused predictions that come true for mysterious reasons. When Henry announces that he will take his own life in three days' time - on his 21st birthday, at exactly midnight - Sam is determined to stop him.
