It’s probably the best cope. As a maladaptive daydreamer I’ve literally had an imaginary girlfriend since middle school or before in evolving iterations.

Yep, I have an imaginary woman laying beside me in my bed every night. She is there to comfort me in my darkest moments
Same, but it's very depressing knowing she isn't real.
