Even as a non-neocon who disagreed with some of the points he has made over the years, I consider Charlie to be a martyr. He was one of the only people on the right who would sit next to complete mentally ill loonies, no matter how far gone they were, and try to have a rational discussion with them.

I respect him because with me personally, those types are write offs, and if I had to engage in any kind of shit throwing contest with them, I would just tell them to take their meds or get in the loony bin.
