Winters here in the west are mild. Half my family comes from East Germany (which is now called Poland). There, temperatures of -10 or -20 degrees Celsius are not uncommon.

It's Celsius, not Fahrenheit. Europe is relatively mild, considering how far north it is. Anyway, the cold doesn't bother me much, except for my fingers when I'm drawing based propaganda in the snow. When I'm holding a can of beer, it's no problem. How cold is it where you are?
