I went on documenting reality.com and the context is that, this group along with 10 Nigerian soldiers went on a low risk mission as informed by their captains or generals. So as they went on that mission they didn’t really have the artillery or man power to go up against 100 isis militants, and were circled around the small group.

Plus this is in the middle of no where in the Saharan dessert, they didn’t have air support as well.( they did mention that they were going to send a UAV or a drone of some sort from France, but since it was a “low risk mission” they decided not to send a drone.)

Also forgot to mention that since they’re in a Saharan dessert, they couldn’t communicate with their home base for reinforcement, it was all fucked from the start.
