Finding motivation for the gym is nowhere near as easy when you realize that it does nothing to change your situation. However, new motivations have arisen for me. The gym is a cheap source of dopamine which is always a plus. The main reason is that it gives my life structure. It's something I can make measurable progress in.

Hiking mogs going o to the gym, in my opinion. It's free, quiet and solitary (given you select a good track), and is far more aesthetically appealing than going to the gym. That being said, I haven't been hiking in ages, I just like the idea.

I should hit the gym and stop being a fatcel. Not for women but just because I feel like shit on a regular basis.

Such a stupid and thoughtless post by you.

Hiking and gym are both great. It's senseless to say "do hiking because better than gym" or vice-versa because both are good in their own way.

It's good to work out no matter what your life situation is.

It's unfortunately a very unpopular opinion in this forum. The harsh truth is many of you are just lazy fucks who don't want to put in the work. Cope. Fuck you.

I’m looking to get back in the gym consistently once this illness is over. Hopefully by this Saturday

I don't think he has to restrict himself to one or the other, I just personally find hiking to be a far more fulfilling activity. I believe that if OP's goal is "cheap dopamine", as he stated in his post, he should consider going hiking as well. Personally, hiking has given me far more enjoyment than going to the gym, and with a fraction of the cost or discomfort.

Hiking takes up most of your day. You can't just go hiking for an hour after work and then be back home by bedtime.

You'd have to live very close to nature which many don't, to be able to go hiking 3 - 4x a week on a whim.

Hiking is more of a special activity and not regular for most people.

Of course hiking can be more fulfilling but it doesn't build muscle. Only a bit leg muscle if you have underdeveloped legs and carry a considerably heavy rucksack.

You can just go to the gym and get a very satisfying pump while listening to some good music and then get out again in 1h feeling strong and refreshed.

Fair enough, if it improves you mentally then I guess. But remember:

Your body releases dopamine hormones after the gym solely due to the fact that the stress has finished - your body thinks you just survived an escape, or something deadly.
Naturally we only go against our intuition like that if our lives are on the line - anyone putting their body under that much unecessary stress has been brainwashed by the redpill and the government.

Bogdanoff is sitting in his chair, relaxing and laughing whilst he watches his slaves tiring themselves out in the gym.

I used to be a big believer in the gym, but after I stopped for a few months, I looked so much better. I swear so many users here could ascend just by not going to the gym - and I mean it.

The gym gives you eye bags, ages you due to the stress on your body, causes bodily issues (I can't even throw a stone anymore with either arms), just to name a few.

Weightlifting is a necessity. Too bad the gym is riddled by normies, I barely even go anymore because I cant stand being around them.

Doing the gym purely for motivation is stupid because it usually just leads to body dysmorphia and disappointment. Consistency and showing up every day matter more. A lot of guys just LDAR and self-sabotage, then wonder why nothing changes.
