there is also the alternative "happy medium" of "chipping". contrary to popular belief you can use opiates without getting addicted to them, but it is still very addictive and it is easy to justify using more and more since the immediate side effects are pretty much nothing (well, assuming you're not overdosing on fentanyl laced bullshit). the more pain you feel in general the easier it is to become an addict (maybe that's obvious but i think it's especially significant when it comes to opiates)

the actual cost is vague due to varying purity in different products. i've ordered from europe and i've paid about $20 for for .5 grams of "average/street quality" stuff in france, about $10 for a .150 sample of heroin with decent quality from the netherlands and about $48 for a gram of the same stuff, and there's another vendor which I'm not going to count since he was a selective/exit scamming bastard. i had trouble finding <$50 domestic/american options for some reason. i have my eyes on some $110 white #4 1g domestic stuff

snorting works for everything but #4 powder works the best (for black tar i've heard you do the "monkey water" technique), IV works for everything but #3 stuff (mostly european) needs something like pure citric acid for it, smoking works except it's very wasteful for #4 powder

sometimes its cheaper sometimes it more. theres a lot more selection in the stores. you can buy schwag for like 25 an eighth or you can pay like 55 for a great eighth. i got moonrocks recently for 35 a gram which would be hard to find on the street.

Do you no get a bad comedown or any kind of withdrawal? When I'm being sniffing coke or taking mdma, i can have some pretty rough comedowns. but i'd imagine with opiates for it to be worse.

Snorting opiates is a waste. I'm not a junkie and haven't tried drugs because i don't know anyone and I can't do them in my house/don't want to do them enough to leave my house.

An addict will try injecting after snorting or smoking after a while, and after that won't be able to get high from snorting. They all succumb the same.
