Has anyone already brought up this point of hypocrisy?
Peaceful protest I'm fine with. Assemble peaceably, and say what ever angry, hateful "boo Whitey" rhetoric you want. As long as you don't get violent. Once you get violent, once you start fireworks bombing buildings, you are a terrorist. A domestic terrorist. I thought that was something we could all agree with. But no, even at the violence, people are like "Well what do you expect them to do? We've been living with this pain for years! Violence is the only means left!!!"
So, because I'm hurt, really hurt, from years of pain, I'm justified in taking my revenge on people who didn't even have anything to do with what hurt me? Cops are bad, and I'm mad at that, so I have the right to take my revenge not just on random cops that didn't necessarily do anything, but businesses? Who might even want justice for George Floyd as much as I do? I can burn down buildings and destroy infrastructure? That had nothing to do with my pain? That's incel talk. That's killer talk. That if my pain is real, if my pain matters, and I've tried it your way to be relieved of this pain, and it doesn't work? I can just start destroying innocent bystanders. How long did Elliot Rodger suffer? How long did he try it "their way?" What did they expect him to do? Welp, better start killing people. What? Murder is bad? But it sends a message!!! You must want Elliot Rodger to be sad!
People have lost all motivation to think ethically anymore. They just throw around out of context quotes. "Those who make peaceful resistance impossible make violent resistance inevitable." JFK. People like to throw that quote around as if JFK was in favor of violent resistance. Okay, Reddit made peaceful resistance impossible. We weren't hurting anybody on Reddit. But we were deplatformed. By their insane logic, we're justified in getting violent if we're pushed too far. Terrorism is a just means to an end now, according to these people. It's exasperating what people have become lately.
