I have two younger siblings—my sister is already married, and my brother has always had his circle of friends and still has with no problem. I’m not sure, but I think he is probably decently attractive, and we look nothing alike really. I’m at most probably a 5, if not a 4.

Looks only really matter if you’re a man. It seems to me that women don’t seem to be troubled in life, even if they are unattractive, obese, even socially awkward. My younger sister has a very similar personality and psychology to mine, and just like my brother, has her circle of friends, social life, etc.

Has anyone ever realized that women aren’t so much negatively affected because of their looks than men are?

I think both men and women are similarly affected by looks. The difference is that women have it easier by default, so for example if a women is ugly instead of hot, her difficulty goes from trivial to medium difficulty, while a man who is ugly instead of hot goes from medium to nightmare difficulty.

For example, a hot women will get random support and gifts and stuff just for existing while an ugly women won't get that (often), she will have to do stuff on her own. That actually might be more difficult due to her lower physical strength but is still counteracted by society helping her more than men. Hot men will also not get anything just for existing but have higher physical strength so can do things on their own and will usually get what they want. Ugly men get nothing, are ostracised by society, so they have it worst. Hmm, my argumentation here would mean that hot men have it easier than ugly women but that's not how I feel. So maybe I have forgotten something or my feeling is wrong.
