HALO EFFECT - Victimized employees are seen as bullies despite exemplary performance, actual bullies get a pass
There's an article that covers this paper, i'll copy paste some important parts. tl;dr Victims of workplace mistreatment may also be seen as bullies themselves, even if they've never engaged in such behavior, and despite exemplary performance. Bullies, on the other hand, may be given a pass if...

I've read one of the threads from our "must read" section and it's really eye opening. Basically, TLDR wise, bullied employees who work hard are accused to be lazy bullies due to the halo effect.
My interpretation of the message is, basically, don't work hard and put any more effort than you need to, when you work for someone else. In this clown planet, the good guys are made to be the bad guys, the just are made to be injust, and the bullied are made to be bullies.
Of course, you are allowed to work hard for things that you own. In fact, the study doesn't affect this field. For example, if you work on a game, feel free to input 200% effort on it. But if the game is owned by someone, then just do the bare minimum.
That's why I only work when I'm given a task, otherwise I play games all day.
