I agree, it's super brutal out there for mentalcels. I would just say that autism in this community is often overdiagnosed and self-diagnosed. Chances are, you don't have autism, it's just that you look bad, then people mistreat you, then you have a "problem connecting". It's super real, but it's essentially looks, not autism, related.

You have memories of going to doctors as a kid, and you actually have an official document stating that you have autism. With this, depending on the country you live in, you can claim autismbux. Autism for boys is always detectable very early, it never "begins" while you're a teen.

It isn't always as simple as that particular if you are a bit older. The first doctor to mention autism to me was this this year and he put me on assessment waiting list. He said himself that in the 90s and 2000s autism wasn't widely known about when I grew up.
He said given my situation of having few friends growing up and not being able to hold down job that it was worth getting the assesment.
I think the reason why I was never assessed as a child was because I was well behaved at school and didn't have problems learning.
