modern anime art styles are plain AF. compare any modern manga's art to D-Grayman's or Superior/Superior Cross
Digital animation was a mistake
They are much less dark and have awful CGI at times, and use too many graphic filters at all times which make it unwatchable.
Anyway i still like watching animes made by Toho, ufotable, Production I.G, Madhouse at least most of the time it will look good enough which is leagues above 99% of the lazy animating teams that do bare minimum each time.
