I never shave completely blank, my face is one of those that needs a beard to hide behind. One time in my life i shaved my beard off, and after looking in the mirror again, i was like: Oh my god, what have i done. Everyone i asked, even my mother, told me to better grow it back. It looked horrible. I just trim it once in a while. But when i'm lazy and let it grow, i look as a hobo aswell. Especially in combination with my style of clothing.
