Ever since I was a kid (8 years old atleast) I've always had a fascination/nerd fantasy for cybernetic implants. I've always wanted one. Even if it's not necessarily surgically implanted in my body (like contacts that let me see night vision for example) I would still want something like that.
I've always been enthralled by movies like RoboCop, Blade Runner, Total Recall, Elysium, Upgrade, etc. And video games like System Shock, Syndicate, and Deus Ex.
And you bet your ass I'm gonna be playin' Cyberpunk 2077!
If I was offered several thousand dollars to be the first human test subject for cybernetics, I would definitely do it. I might even do it for free! If my body rejected them and I died oh well! I hate my life anyway. But if my body could be enhanced that would be awesome. I'm hoping that in the next 20 years scientists will invent working cybernetics. That's what I'm waiting for. That, and the incel rebellion and/or the collapse of society.
Some of the cybernetic implants I hope will become real someday, that I could receive, are:
- auditory implants which allow me to have super-human hearing, that I can adjust by touching a sensor under the skin of my ear.
- an artificial titanium arm so I can punch normies really hard (in Sleeping Dogs)
- an illuminated GUI under the epidermis on my biological arm, that has a working phone, compass, clock, heart rate monitor, blood pressure monitor, and bluetooth capabilities so I can connect my arm interface to a computer and use my arm as a keyboard.
- artificial tapetum lucidem implants in my eyes (a "tapetum lucidem" is a retroreflective layer of skin that allows cats and other animals to see in the dark. Riddick and Geralt of Rivia were mutated to have a tapetum lucidem)
- other eye implants that allow me to magnify my vision
- it would also be cool to have an increased healing factor but that would fall under the realm of genetic modification or nano technology which might be more complicated to invent
