Take a society that gives thanks and keeps God in mind. Every day, they focus on making themselves better people and on living a Christ-centered life. Compare that to a society (Like America) that declines to humble themselves and ends up propogating all sorts of debauchery and degeneracy.
Worshipping God is for your benefit, so that you may be filled with joy and have a clear vision so as not to fall into the confusing and bleak world of darkness.
