I think a lot of men forget that there are socially acceptable things that men do which aligns with makeup for women
-shoe lifts for short guys
-hair plugs or wigs or extensions for balding men
-hair coloring
and various other things. hell, it even is acceptable to wear makeup. lots of gay guys wear some form of makeup and metrosexuals also use priducts

Of course. Funny thing is men used to wear makeup until about 150 years ago (in Europe anyway). Why did they stop? Probably something to do with feminism.
Nothing comparable. Women use make up for their comfort while men who need those kind of things (not all men) are literaly disabled in our world.

all that got slowly faded out with the rise of militarism. instead of fancy and colorful high fashion, men started wearing military uniforms. the modern suit is inspired by this, too.
instead of long hair, short haircuts became the norm - again, because they were used by the military for the purpose of uniformity and hygiene.
Lifts are not acceptable. It's a death sentence if someone finds out. Men with wigs are constantly made fun of. Hair coloring is also seen as ridiculous on older men while it's completely acceptable on women. Fags get away with makeup because they're fags and metrosexuals are usually already attractive so they get away with it, but they still get shit from some people.

The trick with make up is to make it appear you're not wearing any. Make up is designed to make a human more visually pleasing. As women have demonstrated, it works.
