Declaimer: Don’t do anything risky, always abide by the rules of society. You will eventually, after an indeterminate length of time, be happy this way, I promise.
TL;DR: There are many people almost exactly like you. If you get the chance to differentiate yourself from them you should take it since the other “you´s” will still continue your life even if you fail.
Ok, let’s get philosophical for a moment:
Let us assume that there are a number of parallel worlds/universes that are all exactly identical to our own. In each of those universes there is an instance of “you” as you are right now. All those “you´s” are living the exact same lives and are similar in every way.
So now something interesting happens:
One of the “you´s” is suddenly made aware of this situation and is therefore offered a choice:
A: You can ignore this realization and continue living the exact same live as all the other you´s.
B: You can do something risky but potentially rewarding (become less inhibit), knowing that, should anything bad happen to you, the other you´s will live the live that you would have lived if you had chosen option A.
I think there are many cases in which a person would choose B.
For example, I often fantasies about horrifically maiming my former bullies in a way the will make the rest of their lives absolutely unbearable. However, should I fail, I will go to prison and can’t continue my various cope-projects. But if there are other “me`s” that would continue my projects anyway, why should I restrain myself?
Now let’s try to map this theoretical situation onto the real world:
There are probably no parallel worlds and identical “you´s”, but there is the next best thing: Since most people are pretty dull, average and interchangeable, it stands to reason that there is a number of people out there that are, while not exact copies of you, seminar to you in all the ways that matter.
I am sure there are many people in my city that basically live the same life that I live, have similar hobby’s and struggles as me and work similar jobs… and are also incel….
(I have met a number of those people in uni.)
This means that my live is not special and that I could, theoretically, risk it by being less inhibit. If I succeed I will reap the reward, should I fail than the others will continue “my” life anyway.
You can almost look at it like having multiple lives in a videogame.
I think the idea that our individual lives are “sPeCiAl aNd uNIqUe” is made up bullshit since obviously most people are neither of those things. Whoever made this up did so in order to make us risk-averse and easier to control with fear.
