Let's say you're 1) too ashamed to tell your family you want one 2) don't have the funds
It could backfire but how about actually breaking it? Say you fall or got elbowed playing basketball
If you have insurance it should cover it and if your parents can pay for it, it's much less shameful than admitting you want it done for cosmetic purposes. Then at the surgeon's office tell them what you want and make it seem like you might as well improve your nose while you're at it cause why not
