The summary is that you never know when you might find someone but you also never know how long it might last. You could be single for 6 months then find someone randomly, date them for 6 months, then split and end up single again for another 6! It's really hard to say.
They are not pretending. They simply do not realize they are (could be) attractive. Either they dont know how rate themseleves or they dont realize what an advantage being tall is (if they are tall).
They could simply ask in a random online forum others to rate them and give them advices not spent time here , although i am a manlet i do belive some tall guys can be incels, since you mentioned tall guys.
