It's not really that nobody would care, it would be simply easier to do it and then leave and not be caught. No 911 anyone could call with a few clicks, no modern forensics, no CCTVs, and so on. The rest of her community definitely would care though, as would any authorities when it came to there being a murderer killing their subjects, and if they somehow did catch you, it would be pretty nasty.
