If you've read Victorian romance novels (I've skimmed) the most popular situationship was that of a wealthy girl fleeing with a poor lad because she adores him. That would never occur in 2026. That wouldn't even qualify as a romance book. Most people don't think that social mobility was much higher in the Victorian era than it is now but they'd be completely wrong. In 19th-century America, it wasn't a bad idea to wager on an adventurous poor man. Hypergamy and zoism only really hit us around 1972 at the peak of the neo-marxist sex revolution. And, there's nothing we can really do to reverse any of this. It's pretty much over.
