Living in India is more of a practical survival and material value thing to me though. Secondarily, it just happened to help with a spiritual aspect, not because of anything much to do with Hinduism per say, but more to do with the slowing down of time, and not having to work full time, so that one can concentrate on the personal development aspects etc.
