I think Elden Ring is a bit gloomy and depressing and gothy. The devil is in the details I think.

Probably the camera. Though I believe arpgs that play like diablo are just more fun and addictive than others.

I don't think it's that though as I don't tend to play isometric games normally.

I think... the music sounds better, the environment looks more detailed, the lighting is more interesting, the world seems more interesting too, etc.
