So the other smaller camps accounted for the remaining 5 millions or so, since Auschwitz killed a couple hundred?
First off, this is a simplification of how the Holocaust happened. Auschwitz was one part of a much larger machine of genocide. The estimate is around 1.1 million were killed at Auschwitz, not "a couple hundred." There were many other killing sites that were used such as: Treblinka, Sobibor, Belzec, Chelmno, Majdanek — all of which were primarily extermination camps. They didn't have numbers for prisoners because they were usually killed within hours of arrival. In Treblinka alone they murdered around 800,000, mostly in gas chambers.
The 6 million figure is a total drawn from across all types of killings: camps, mass shootings, forced starvation, ghettos, and more.
Germans didn't control Typhus. Is Russia being held responsible for all the cancers in the region surrounding Chernobyl?
This analogy is kind of weak. Typhus spread because of conditions that were imposed by the Nazis: overcrowding, starvation, no sanitation, and deliberate neglect. It’s like throwing people into a swamp, chaining them down, and then claiming you didn’t drown them because the swamp did it
The radiation exposure in Chernobyl and subsequent cancer cases were mostly unintentional; it was an accident that wasn't purposefully done unlike the conditions imposed on the prisoners. Also, the USSR didn’t use cancer as propaganda to justify exterminating Ukrainians or Belarusians after Chernobyl.
It kind of is. Even when counting these massacres and others less known, 6 millions is A LOT.
Yet it's not implausible. From 1941–1945, there were four years of continuous killings. Operation Reinhard alone which included: Treblinka, Belzec, Sobibor — killed around 1.7 million in less than two years. The Nazi bureaucracy documented much of this in the 'Einsatzgruppen reports', train logs, and other records. Modern historians compiled data for every region and the math checks out.
This isn't just based on nothing; it's based on forensic evidence, physical remains, Nazi paperwork, and survivor + perpetrator testimony.
This was investigated in detail after the war. There’s no record of millions of Jews simply relocating. In most cases, the entire community was wiped out. You can’t emigrate if you're marched into forests and shot or sent to Treblinka.
It weakens other stories. If this is a lie, why wouldn't that other story be one too.
This is just confirmation bias and guilt by association bullshit. Disproving a detail in a few accounts doesn’t discredit the thousands of others that independently align.
You can't. Pretty much every criticism of j00s or Israel is labeled Nazi behavior.
People criticize Israel’s policies all the time; the issue is when people spread conspiracies claiming Jews secretly control governments, faked their own genocide, or orchestrated global events, etc... But like I said in one of my previous replies, I do agree many people are highly sensitive and call people 'antisemitic', 'nazi' in unreasonable ways.
