I think everyone in my neighbourhood knew it was over for me. I remember, before going to college, someone told me to try my best to find a gf there and I didn't even mention dating with him. Sounds like they knew if I fail to ascend there, I will be truly over for me. My theory is that people already know how over is it for people and discuss it behind their backs but won't say it in front of them so that they don't sound too mean i guess.

I mostly communicate with people of older generation, and I'm from an ex-communist country where - the glorious Communist Party be praised - the sexual revolution arrived much later than in the West. Hence, my older relatives really think I'm volcel lol
