A little over 20 years ago I was cut out of my mother in a hospital. By the time she gave birth to me, she was 36 years old and my dad was 40.
Being the lucky product of a geriatric pregnancy comes with great perks such as seriously increased risk for chromosome defects (Down syndrome etc), mental disorders like autism and ADHD, heart defects, and more!
After piecing together everything wrong with me, everything makes so much more sense realizing that for pregnancy after ~30-35, a mother is almost guaranteed ruining her child’s genetics.
Below is some of the fun stuff I’ve personally dealt with.
Normal/common: Shitty teeth alignment (needed braces), poor eyesight (glasses/contacts since 8yo), Ruined mental health since 14yo.
Rare/Super lucky: Terrible acne since 14 - resists all treatments so far.
Heart murmur, high blood pressure, and family history of heart attacks (I am going to die of cardiac arrest eventually).
Dermatillomania - I get urges to or subconsciously pick at my acne and fingers.
Nocturnal enuresis - Yep. I couldn’t control my bladder and fucking pissed the bed for a long time. I don’t remember until what age (MUCH longer than normal).
Delayed puberty - I was one of the shortest and least developed kids in my grade until high school.
Extra fun piece: some time when I was between 0 and 1 I was unsupervised for a little bit and ran straight through a glass door somehow. This gave me 3 large arced scars on my forehead and probably permanently damaged my nervous system due to the immense pain. (Screaming in agony during the event and surgery)
I’m sure I’m forgetting some things. I’m not fishing for pity, rather let this be a warning to not have children after the woman’s early 30s or your kid will inherit ALL of the bad genetics of BOTH parents. (Inb4 most of us will never reproduce I know). Also watch your fucking children or they will kill themselves. I literally almost killed myself in the glass story.
