I somewhat agree. I'd like this place to be a bit more active but not massively. Having around 50+ more active users would be nice. Summer is always way more active on the forum and I'd like it to have around that kind of activity all year.

100% agree. There is nothing to be gained by allowing many more users. Even if they’re not bad-faith, they usually lack the intellectual depth and precision that more established, serious BPers have. (For example, Looksfag.org users joining) Also, having fewer users/less growth allows for fewer and higher-quality threads, which have both: more thought put into the original post AND more activity per thread. This also would mean OP would be more likely to respond to commenters for longer and the discussion go on longer and be more in-depth. These two things make each thread more of a thoughtful and/or enjoyable discussion instead of slop or someone’s shouting into the void.

Obv, that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun/lighthearted posts or need to be super “intellectual” all the time. In fact, the humor would improve with fewer users.

Tbf im a product of the forum kind of going mainstream recently, since i only joined in the summer and i barely post.

For the older/more frequent posters i'd agree since it prevents edgy looksmaxxing teens and IT perverts from spamming the forum lol

I don't think it's the quantity of the userbase that matters but the quality.
Worthless ITbait spam is shitting up ID and making effortposters like @Misogynist Vegeta leave.
Therefore you could be getting more posts per unit of time on average but still feel like nothing useful is being discussed because of how low quality it is.
