There's no such thing as degeneracy as a biological existence is inherently degenerate, there's no difference in terms of "being disgusting" between the act of sex and the act of taking a shit, they both disgusting acts that involve the excretion of bodily fluids

I find it funny that if someone has their own spit in their mouth they spit it out in disgust, but they can suck someone else's tongue during sex and then its magically "beautiful"

It's like you said, what's considered degenerate is a matter of perspective and personal values.

There's a number of ways you can see it as degenerate that don't necessarily resort to "moralfagging" (I hate this term almost as much I hate foids). There's a seedy, criminal element to it (human trafficking, pimping etc.), though this is generally mitigated with "independent escorts" and the like. The practice of buying and selling sex is something is typically disconnected from more stable pillars in society, such as the family structure. A woman who opens her legs for any man can't reasonably be expected by society at large to be have a stable family and provide a healthy emotional and psychological environment for the raising of her children, let alone the psychological and emotional harm it can do to the father to have many men (daily) ravaging and destroying the same pussy his children came out of.

Prostitution brings more harm than benefit to society in general. There's probably an economic argument there to be made against prostitution, but I'm not well versed in economic theory to make it.

Degeneracy can be defined as anything that is destructive to society or has very negative influences.

Gambling, for example, is commonly understood to be degenerate behavior, but necessarily not for any moral reason. The destructiveness of gambling isn't something that needs to be explicitly elucidated, but I'll do it a bit anyway. Betting your rent and food money, borrowing money you can't pay back, lying to your friends and family to the point where it has a measurable negative impact on your relationships with them. All of these things are common outcomes of this degenerate behavior.

You can think about some more of the harms of prostitution. It's not hard to see more of the negatives beyond some of the things I've mentioned earlier.
