I’ve never been one of those people to justify or endorse rape, but I do empathize with people who didn’t really do something that bad, but get the label, slapped on them and go to prison. When people think of a rapist, they think of somebody who holds women down in alleyways and repeatedly violates them. The vast majority of the time it’s just somebody’s a bit too drunk or the guy is just too pushy.

I met a rapist who was convicted of it for that exact reason, the woman said that she was afraid to say no, and afraid to leave, but he didn’t even explicitly know that he was raping her at the time. It was deemed it after the fact. It was complete bullshit and the reverse onus was applied.

In jail, he was treated very horribly. He was in a cell with multiple other people, and there was a toilet with no privacy bars. He asked the guards if they could escort them to a private toilet because he had to take a shit. They laughed and did a collective punishment on the entire jail cell just to isolate him.

The other inmates gathered around him, one said “ hey Peter, you think we like shitting in the wind?”. Another guy said “ here’s what’s gonna happen, you’re going to do your business right here right now, and we’re all gonna watch and if you close your eyes, we will open them for you. If you don’t, you’ll be eating from a straw for the rest of your life.

They intentionally humiliated him because he was a rapist even though what the others did was actually just as bad. If not worse

I find it funny Normans think that prisoners exact justice on lesser inmates. This is untrue. People like rapists and pedophiles only see "justice" if they are deemed socially "lesser".
