I'm 5'4" and just recently was on a ladder, a step or 2-3 up, around 9 inches in the air, now I saw what I'll never be.

I DESPISE when this happens to me. I'm roughly the same height as you and I genuinely loathe getting on stools for that exact reason. There's nothing more brutal than the humiliation that you get from having to get on a stool to reach something in your kitchen, only to be reminded that you are a genetic failure that can't do basic things like that which other guys could do without a problem.
It's genuinely terrible because if you isolate yourself enough, you can forget that you're a manlet and you even can start to gaslight yourself into thinking you're a normal height. The instant you experience any contrast, however, you have to deal with the bitter reminder of your subhumanity plaguing you again.
