My emotions have been beaten so bad there's almost nothing left. Like hitting your shins with sticks or punching stone or steel numbs your knuckles.

I can relate. My mind just feels like it's tied up in a bunch of knots and it's incapable of doing anything but feeling awful about everything. It all hits me at once. If you asked me to complete any task during this I wouldn't be able to do it at all.
