I'm going to approach this differently than I usually do. Let's ignore lookism and hypergamy and apply logic to the title's statement.

The way the platitude is articulated indicates that these ugly men are a minority. The word "ugly" is used to distinct them from normal looking guys who are the ones usually having gfs. How many you may ask? It doesn't matter much tbh. I can make multiple estimations. Take these for example:

-1/8 couples involve an ugly guy

-1/9 couples involve an ugly guy

-1/10 couples involve an ugly guy

Let's take the second statistic. Saying that 1/9 couples involve an ugly guy is equal to saying that 8/9 couples involve an average+ guy. The exception strenghtens the rule. It doesn't matter if 1/9 ugly dudes got a gf because that's only 11% of the couples. It is still statistically improbable for other below average men to have the same luck. And because life isn't a video game you can restart everytime the RNG doesn't benefit you, you will have to take reality as it comes. The odds are stuck up against you and the game of life does not have a a save feature or checkpoints. In other words, you are fucked.

I just debunked a commonly said platitude using nothing but logic. No evolutionary psychology or biology. Just logic. Now, where is my gf?
