Serious I just threw away a pigeons egg and I feel guilty as fuck for killing it. How do roasties kill an entire baby without any guilt?

There was pigeon who laid an egg on my balcony inside a plant pot. It kept coming back to sit on it everyday and it would shit all over my balcony when it is there. I was tired of cleaning it’s shit so I threw the egg off balcony. And now I am feeling guilty as fuck.

But the alternative was having the pigeon and his new born shitting on my balcony together so I had to use my judgement.


Maybe I am too sensitive but I still feel bad. My question is how do roasties kill an entire baby inside them that is made up with flesh and then pull out his/her fleshy remains out of their bodies? Don’t they have a soul? I feel guilty for a fucking egg but these roasties go ahead with their abortion knowing damn well what they are doing.

I truly believe foids don’t have a concept of moral/kindness inside them. They just see men acting kind/moral then they try to replicate it to try to fit in as much as possible.

I get where you are coming from. I hate animal suffering so I try to kill mice fast when I see my cats playing with them. One time I jumped on a mouse flattening it, thinking that it would put it out of it's misery but it was still alive and it disturbed me. Another jump killed it but it suffered more than it should have.

My preferred method is to use an axe and chop them in half. It kills them instanty.

That bird most likely failed to mate with a male within the time period, that egg was most likely not fertilized. Normal behavior if the egg was not fertilized, the result of a failed mating cycle. They still sit on in sometimes to quell their instincts.

Then you would need to feed it every few hours with a special mixture for around 2 weeks. Not mentioning the other hurdles such as the need of warmth for the chick, maybe even a helping hand to help it hatch. Bird care needs research, hatching eggs needs a ton of research and lots of courage for the first plunge.
