I think that handwriting is a good benchmark for motor ability, because it's something that most people have a very high level of practice in (so ability differences are more likely to reflect genetic differences rather than the result of a lack of practice). You can write pretty cleanly, so you should be fine.

You can write pretty cleanly, so you should be fine.

I type on my laptop pretty fast, so I guess I'm fine in regards to that.

Even if he does. Playing instruments even helps to decelerate Alzheimers and improve the condition.

Do you mean in terms of theory, or practical work?

If you want to know about theory, I'd suggest you start learning where different notes are on your low E/A strings (useful for root notes) and learn about intervals and how they are used to form chords or scales and go from there.

In terms of overall practical advice, I don't know of one singular tutorial/channel, I'd recommend watching various YouTube videos, though try and stay away from clickbaity videos. Watching footage of skilled players and noting their technique is also very useful. Fretting technique is pretty straightforward, but picking technique gets far more complicated. Troy Grady's channel and his associated forum (Cracking the Code) are useful for improving picking technique.

And if you want to learn songs, Songsterr is in general the best option available. I'd recommend using a Tampermonkey script to crack it to access paywalled features (the most important of which being the ability to slow down a song).

You can also sideload the cracked premium app on android easily. Its great but I don't recommend relying too much on songsterr in the beginning especially because you will end up like me not being able to play anything after a few years in time without it because your rhythm sucks
