I'm mulatto but I've always associated with my black side more because clearly I'm not a white guy, I look more black than anything. Intelligence and to some extent behavior is influenced by genetic inheritance, surely the less European DNA someone has in America the less you can ASSUME their intelligence is (excluding East Asians). But there are some smart negroes out there just like there are some dumb whites. It's all about averages when it comes to racial generalization
