The first months are hard, you will miss them even if they have been assholes with you.
Past 6 months the attachement will dissipate and after a year or two you won't think about them anymore.

It has been 7 years now and I have pretty much forgotten them. They do very rarely attempt to contact me, perhaps once a years asking me where I am and what I do.
But I am no fool, they ask this because they want to keep face when other people ask them what I've become. They just don't want to aknowledge the truth and tell others that I have gone no-contact on them.
