I never eaten food with my family. My mother worked so after coming home i would just reheat some food in the microvawe and eat in front of a tv. I have done this ever since i can remember. We didn't even eat together on weekends. Only on christmas.

At school. I would always eat alone. I don't live in the US we don't have a lunch break here. you just eat on a regual brake. There were no chairs so i just sat on the floor and ate some sandwiches.

Nothing has changed. Years later i still always eat alone. it's gotten to the point that i'm self consious about eating in front of people.

Is this normal?

Sure is. We are just built like this. It feels comfy to eat alone after a while.

I try not to eat in front of others because I'm fucked in the head and have certain issues but like you I also eat alone. In school nobody wanted to be near me so I ate alone. Would even eat in the bathroom so nobody would mess with me. I stopped eating around family because they would make fun of the way I eat. So I just only eat when I'm in my room and I eat in the dark in front of my iPad watching YouTube videos. During the pandemic I've gotten sloppy and extra ugly and fat so eating in the dark also helps me cope so nobody can see me gorge myself.
