A lot of abusive or narcissistic parents do this kind of stuff. They just conveniently forget what they said or did to you because to them, that moment didn't matter. I absolutely agree with you. My mother was quite abusive. When I was younger she was physical and then I started getting into fights and she turned verbal/emotional. I used to confront her about it all the time in hopes she would apologize to me just once but she claims I'm only remembering the bad parts of my childhood because "that's how all kids think" I'm fucking 23.
