I hate Metroidvanias

I fucking hate Metroidvanias so much. Normies act as if they automatically have more depth than regular 2d action games for reasons. Apparently they'd rather backtrack for hours instead of experience a constant flow of exciting content in a compressed package. I have never beaten a Metroidvania. They're just too boring. I tried playing Symphony of the Night and ended up playing the PS1 remake of the first Castlevania instead.

Most of the time they could just make new areas that would use new powers instead forcing themselves to make new paths in old

Not a fan of backtracking but good Metroidvanias do it well, for example by having new enemies spawn in the path or by giving you shortcuts.

Currently playing a Metroidvania called "Timespinners". Main character is a foid, but otherwise it's pretty decent.
