I can understand why some people like it but it's too boring and nothing happens most of the time

It's a pseudointellectual mumbo jumbo and they didn't predict shit, you could have internet way before that dogshit anime even started. But music was pretty good i can give them that. Scenes are always dragging out too long no matter which scene it always take 2-3x more time than it should be even Texhnolyze despite ultra slow start wasn't that slow and boring as Lain. Ergo Proxy mogged them both.

tbh i didn't understand much shit at first but i like it it's better than just watching mindless modern normieslop jumbo all the time.

i didn't find it boring even though it felt like i should have

It doesn't make that much sense like @starystulejarz said, it's just another pseudo anime. Even back then when it wasn't that popular everyone watched it because of Lain's bear pajamas :feelshehe: and pretended to make sense out of it just like with the last two episodes of nge haha.

Trannies killed it for me

@DoomerGuy831 thought on his opinion?

I remember watching this on techtv like 23 years ago. I barely remember the anime itself, but I still remember the lyrics to the OP.

It makes far more sense than people give it credit for. If you want abstract, go watch Texhnolyze, Cat Soup, Boogiepop Phantom or Paranoia Agent.
Lain, in its simplest terms, is about whether the real you is the one in the real world constrained by society, or the one in the Internet, unconstrained by anything.
It didn't predict the Internet, as it was already quite popular in Japan back in '98 when it first aired.

Haibane Renmei is Yoshitoshi Abe's best work
Agree
I remember discovering Haibane Renmei thanks to this thread

Overrated piece of trash and I watched it 2 times because maybe I thought I was low IQ not to understand it.

While in reality it's the authors and fan of that shit anime are low iq retards trying to cope with their stupidity by creating artistic (more like autistic) anime full of surface level theories and ideas but also with extremely slow scenes and pacing for no damn reason but to fill space so they won't need to think that hard and also make cost of animation/drawing much lower.

I personally liked it and I'm also glad I beat all the troons to liking it.

I'm just dumb and didn't understand shit when I watched it haha :feelstastyman:
I enjoyed boogiepop and paranoia agent much more. Lain was just too boring and bland as a character so it didn't really get my attention.
Also boogiepop has a better opening and ending :feelshehe:

watched it years ago, but i don't know why guys obsess with it

Lain was about an AI realizing its potential to break free of it's
prison world and its confines.

"Every human function—heartbeats, breaths, thoughts—reducible to code. The body? A mere machine."
Lain pondered. "But if our physical limits shackle evolution, are we doomed?"
