I recently found an artist by the name of Wifiskeleton and it turns out I really like his music. Looked him up on tiktok, the content was filled to the absolute brim about "you're not a real fan of you didn't listen to his music before [insert time when they started listening to his music]" this is the exact same with basically every artist. It pisses me off so much. Why do normshits do this so much? Like are their lives so monotone and uneventful that they have to cling onto any form of "special-ness" they think they have?
"Oh I liked it before you therefore I'm more of a fan than you" shut the fuck up. Why can't mfs just enjoy shit.
And this isn't with music itself, it's with gaming too. "Oh brooooo I played this game before you therefore I'm a REAL fan" LOL no one gives a shit. You are not special.
I understand new fans can be annoying but I rarely ever see that happen, it's usually the people who think they're special because they've listened to this artist/ played this game/ watched this series/anime who are the annoying ones.
I have this rule of thumb. Don't interact with the community of anything in the internet. Not with any game, artist or whatever. I learnt this the hard way when I played Deltarune. The most god awful people I've ever met.
