Some 35ish year old Karen came into the store with her some ugly ass massive dog breed. She ended up staying for like 2 hours and the dog barked pretty much the entire time. Had a really obnoxiously loud bark even for a dog. I could hear it all the way from the back. I went to clean the dining area and the dog lunged at me and it looked like it was about to attack me. For a split second I was getting mentally prepared to have to fight a dog. The karen owner gave me a bitchy scowl, like I was in the wrong for her dog lunging and barking at me for just trying to do my fucking job.
After she finally left I had to clean the dining area again, and right where she was sitting, there was a massive pile of dog shit on the floor. Of course it was my job to clean it up. I fucking hate my job, and I fucking hate how people are bringing their dogs everywhere and making them everyone else's problem. There's next to zero pushback against this either, in fact most people end up fawning over "muh heckin doggos" when entitled owners bring them into businesses they don't belong, no matter how loud or annoying the dog is.
I think the reason this is such an epidemic now is the low birthrate. Many gen z and millennials aren't having children, so they turn dogs into their surrogate children (hence terms like "furbabies" and "dog mom"). So they bring them everywhere like they would with a baby. They don't believe in discipline so that means letting their dogs do whatever they want whenever they want. And they're narcissistic, so they think everyone else should deal with the noise and the mess their dogs leave. In their minds it should be the minimum wage worker's job to clean up their dog's shit. And because of how the culture and bent in their favor, this has become the de facto policy.
And you can't complain about it because everyone will think you are the bad guy. At this point you'd probably get treated better by society if you were openly racist than if you spoke out against this dog worshipping culture.
