I get what you are saying, trust me, but when I say I worked a lot it's not as if I only worked for the courses. It's more like I was living for that, always thinking about them and science. You could say passion helped me - it sure did.
But certainly not any form of intelligence, again besides the courses, I'm more of a plankton than anything.

Also, when I was younger I wasn't working at all for school. It resulted in very shitty results. If I was that high IQ it wouldn't have happened.
