Not true, I was on finasteride for 4 years and still lost hair on it, just lost hair way slower, had to switch to dutasteride and add oral minoxidil recently. How effective these treatments are depends on your genetics. I have aggressive loss, started balding at 18 and still have decent hair now at 25 but it certainly didn't completely stop hair loss, it slowed it down for me. I've got DUPA hair loss, hair loss on the sides and back as well as top.
