Small cap index funds are always a good bet. As long as they have low maintenance costs (or whatever you call it). DON'T EVER BUY A FUND WITH LIKE 1% MAINTENANCE COST SOME OF THEM ARE LIKE 0.2%

I just invest in ETFs. I'm not smart enough to know which stocks will rise in the future and even if I were I would not have the time for it - people smarter than me who do it full-time are certainly better. Similarly, I want to have some spread but have low fees and don't trust others to outperform the average, so I just pick low-cost ETFs.
