Maybe, maybe not, but the issue is that whether anyone deserves anything or not, basic needs are still necessary to an happy life, and even if you can rationalize that happiness is not something you can really expect it doesn't mean you are going to cease being unhappy.

In a way, a lot of homeless people don't really deserve to have an house or a normal life. Some of them are homeless because of bad choices they have made. Even so, i wonder how many people would have the guts to go to an homeless person and tell them they should stop complaining if they don't like their life, or that they are bad people for wanting to have a bit of food or a warm bed at night to sleep on.
