I understand how you feel.
I used to be extremely smart at the start of high school and would easily make all of my homework but as time went on I lost motivation and my grades dropped ( From high grades to barely passing grades ).
I don't see the need for schools, they're a huge waste of time.

I think i read somewhere that lack of social stimulis and long lasting depression leads to brain cells loss and thus some grey matter shrinkage.
I know for a fact that too much cortisone for a long time (as seen in anxiety/depresion sufferers) shrinks the hippocompus (memory unit of the brain).
I have to look through the NCBI library to find these studies.
