The park is quiet, fading toward dusk. A few joggers pass by, but they don’t look twice at the two figures on the long wooden bench.
On one end sits **EREN YEAGER**, elbows on his knees, staring at the pavement. On the other end sits **ELLIOT RODGER**, back straight, hands folded neatly in his lap, jaw tight.
The silence lingers. Eren speaks first.
**EREN**
Nice weather today. Sky looks clear.
**ELLIOT**
(flatly)
I guess.
**EREN**
(smiles faintly, almost to himself)
Where I grew up, I thought the world outside would be beautiful. Kinder. But it wasn’t. It was worse. Crueler.
Elliot turns slightly, listening despite himself.
**EREN**
(quietly)
The world always finds new ways to hurt you. It doesn’t stop.
**ELLIOT**
(voice low, bitter)
Yeah… I know. I feel like I’m invisible. People walk past me like I don’t exist. No matter how much I change. No matter what I try.
**EREN**
You carry it. That weight. I can see it.
**ELLIOT**
They don’t. They never see it. I bought new clothes, got the right haircut, even forced myself to act confident. Still nothing. They give their attention to fools and leave me in the dark.
**EREN**
The world doesn’t care what’s inside. It only worships what it sees on the outside. The rest? It spits on.
**ELLIOT**
(nods sharply)
I know the world owes me for what it’s denied me.
**EREN**
It does.
**ELLIOT**
And I know I’m better than them. I know I’m the Supreme Gentleman.
**EREN**
(locks eyes with him, steady)
You are.
A long pause. Elliot leans forward, lowering his voice.
**ELLIOT**
Sometimes I think… if they won’t notice me, I’ll force them to. Make them see me. Make them remember.
Eren studies him quietly. His eyes don’t flinch.
**EREN**
(soft, but certain)
I understand.
**ELLIOT**
(breath quickening, whispering)
They’ll never ignore me again. I’ll show them all. I’ve thought about it… about doing something that no one can forget.
Another silence. Eren leans back, gaze fixed on the horizon.

(voice low, resolute)
Then do it. Whatever you believe in, follow it. Even if it means sacrificing everything.
Elliot stares, almost trembling.
**ELLIOT**
But… what if there’s another way? What if a miracle happens? What if, one day, they finally see me?
**EREN**
(shakes his head slowly)
Miracles don’t happen. You’ve already tried everything. That was your miracle. And it failed.
**ELLIOT**
(quiet, defeated)
So… this is the only way left.
**EREN**
(steady, final)
Yes.
The two sit in silence. A group of laughing college students walk by, not sparing them a glance. Elliot watches, his jaw clenched, his fists tight. Eren doesn’t look at them — his gaze stays fixed on the setting sun.
**EREN**
(softly, almost to himself)
The world never forgives. It never forgets. It only takes.
The silence stretches. The weight of unspoken decisions hangs between them.
