Even though hyenas are predatory wild animals and can't really be compared to humans, I changed my mind and agree that pattern recognition and acting accordingly is based.
Ethnics have a tendency to behave badly, so it's just rational for me to assume that an ethnic I meet will behave badly.
It's not my obligation to give everyone the benefit of the doubt ... it's their obligation to prove to me that they're different from their peers.
When I walk the streets at night, I make sure that I stay away from blacks and arabs, not because I'm a racist, but because these groups have been proven to be more likely to be criminals. It's natural, rational behavior.
